Dr. Carmen McClish is a recent graduate from the University of Massachusetts. Her area of research is cultural studies – specifically media and performance studies. She explores the relationship of play as a communication tactic and the possibilities offered by nebulous forms of social protest in her dissertation, "Social Protest, Freedom, and Play as Rebellion." Dr. McClish has adapted four articles from this research, three of which are currently under review. In the Department of Communication Studies at Northeastern she has taught Introduction to Communication Studies, Media, Culture, and Society, Public Speaking, and will be teaching a Communication and Gender class in Spring 2009.
