Research Interests:
Dr. Morreale’s research interest is media theory and criticism. Her current work on television draws from her background in rhetoric , film , and cultural studies to address the interrelationships of television form, content, genre, and industry within their cultural contexts. In so doing, she considers issues of aesthetics, generic innovation, representation, and television’s relationship to consumer culture. She has published two books on presidential film, one edited book on television situation comedy, and several book chapters and journal articles, the latter including Journal of Popular Film and Television, Television and New Media, Quarterly Journal of Film and Video, and Iowa Journal of Communication.
