Research Interests: Dr. Sarah E. S. Sinwell received her Ph.D. from the Department of Communication and Culture at Indiana University. While at Indiana University, she co-hosted a movie review podcast for PBS Television entitled "See it or Skip It." Her research focuses on the intersections of film and media studies, cultural studies, and gender and sexuality studies. She is also interested in body genres, sexual spaces, and girlhood studies. She has written an essay on Being John Malkovich in Film and Sexual Politics and is currently working on an article about the construction of memory, desire and adolescent sexualities in Eve's Bayou. Currently, Dr. Sinwell is working on a book-length project that focuses on contemporary American independent cinema and the ways in which fluid subjectivities, embodied sexualities and multiple identifications are constructed through feminist, queer, and postmodern frameworks.
